After losing to the Lake Placid Bombers the last time they met, the Wells Wells CSD decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Wells strolled past the Bombers with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 47-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wells.
Wells was led to victory by Hunter Passmore and Chase Brooks. Passmore scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Brooks scored 21 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Brooks has scored at least a third of Wells' points. Paul Smith was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Lake Placid's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Seb Cecunjanin, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Hayes, who scored ten points.
The victory got Wells back to even at 8-8. As for Lake Placid, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wells has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Averaging 67.5 points so far this season, Crown Point's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Wells CSD better be ready for a challenge. As for Lake Placid, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th. Johnsburg Central is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
