Middletown is a perfect 6-0 against Farmington since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Blue Dragons will be playing at home against the River Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Middletown is headed into Friday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They came up short against Wethersfield on Friday, falling 35-12. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Despite the defeat, Middletown had strong showings from Tariku Zipf, who gained 109 total yards and a touchdown, and Victor Bonet, who rushed for 48 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Farmington fell victim to Berlin and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Redcoats and fell 35-0. While losing is never fun, the River Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Redcoats are ranked 25th).

Farmington's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Middletown, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Middletown has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 167.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Farmington, though, as they've been averaging only 67.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
