Even though Hylton has not done well against Forest Park recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Hylton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 29-26 victory over Forest Park. The win was just what Hylton needed coming off of a 61-28 loss in their prior match.
Hylton can attribute much of their success to Raegan Cathcart, who scored ten points along with seven steals, and Akira Walton, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cathcart has scored at least a third of Hylton's points.
Charles J. Colgan's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Hylton, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's match: Charles J. Colgan have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4 threes per game. It's a different story for Hylton, though, as they've been averaging only 2.4 threes per game. Given Charles J. Colgan's sizeable advantage in that area, Hylton will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Charles J. Colgan against Hylton in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 58-31 win.
