Northside - Pinetown has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the East Carteret Mariners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside - Pinetown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Even though Lejeune scored an imposing 65 points on Friday, Northside - Pinetown still came out on top. Northside - Pinetown took their match against Lejeune 78-65. Northside - Pinetown pushed the score to 60-38 by the end of the third, a deficit Lejeune cut but never quite recovered from.
It was another big night for Griffin Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Moore, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led East Carteret over Lejeune in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. East Carteret put the hurt on Lejeune with a sharp 80-54 win. The win was nothing new for East Carteret as they're now sitting on six straight.
Northside - Pinetown's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for East Carteret, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.
Things could have been worse for Northside - Pinetown, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-57 loss to East Carteret in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Northside - Pinetown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
