The West Laurens Raiders's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 51-43 victory over Howard. The victory was just what West Laurens needed coming off of a 80-29 loss in their prior game.
West Laurens found their leader in underclassman Brookyln Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Another player making a difference was Tariah Tobler, who scored ten points along with seven steals.
West Laurens' victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Howard, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
West Laurens won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against East Laurens at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. East Laurens is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Howard, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Baldwin at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Baldwin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
