Baseball Recap: Founders Classical Academy Plays to a Tie

Neither the Founders Classical Academy Hoplites nor the Somerset Academy Collegiate Bears could gain the upper hand on Monday so the two teams had to settle for a 4-4 draw.

John Spalding spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

With that tie, Founders Classical Academy's record moves to 7-2-1. Meanwhile, Somerset Academy Collegiate's record is now 1-1-1.

Looking ahead, Founders Classical Academy will host IDEA Judson College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Somerset Academy Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
