The Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past Berean Christian with a 48-42 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Clayton Valley Charter also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2017.
Clayton Valley Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lucy Guitron out in front who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Guitron has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Surney, who scored six points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Berean Christian still got an impressive performance from Gabrielle Abigor, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Jadee Salvador was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Clayton Valley Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Berean Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 18-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clayton Valley Charter will take on the Broncos at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northgate is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Berean Christian, they will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Las Lomas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 777th, while the Eagles are ranked 251st).
