Gatewood found their leader in underclassman Matt Allen, who scored 35 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least a third of Gatewood's points. Another player making a difference was Blake Callaway, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Brentwood blew past Piedmont Academy, posting a 71-38 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Brentwood has managed all season.
Gatewood is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for Brentwood, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.
Everything went Gatewood's way against Brentwood when the teams last played two weeks ago as Gatewood made off with a 62-37 win.
