Football Recap: Freeport's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Freeport needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Dylan Louthain. The Bulldogs slipped by the North Florida Christian Eagles 36-35 on Friday thanks in part to Louthain, who rushed for 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Freeport is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Freeport, racking up 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Julius Miles, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

North Florida Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Tommy Coyne and Kyle Estimond. Coyne threw for 324 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per attempt, while Estimond picked up 133 receiving yards and one score.

Freeport now has a winning record of 5-4. As for North Florida Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

As of now, neither Freeport nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
