Girls Tennis: Title Matches Set for Individual State Championships

AURORA - The championship match ups are set for all three classifications of the Girls Tennis Individual State Championships in Pueblo (3A), Colorado Springs (4A) and Denver (5A).
 
All matches will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday at each of the respective sites:
 
3A Tournament: Pueblo City Park in Pueblo
4A Tournament: Memorial Park in Colorado Springs
5A Tournament: Denver City Park in Denver
 
In 5A, Valor Christian’s Caroline Daugherty will face Chaparral Remy Nguyen in #1 singles, while Cherry Creek’s Jisele Boker and Fairview’s Jane Roth will meet up in #2 singles and, in #3 singles, Ralston Valey’s Scarlett Lutz and Fairview’s Maya Brakhage will take the court together.
 
In doubles action, Cherry Creek will look to sweep the action as it will be featured in all four doubles matches. In #1 doubles, the Bruins’ duo of Sayeesha Garud and Sabrina Shama will take on Ralston Valley’s Adia Farling and Cassidy Gordon. In #2 doubles Cherry Creek’s Riley Loehr and Zoey Hao will face Ralston Valley’s Kylie Engelsman and Parker Lucas and #3 doubles will be Ralston Valley’s Mataya Farling and Sofia Elola vs. Cherry Creek’s Joelle Yoon and Karissa Manley. In #4 doubles, Valor Christian’s Reese Blanchard and Sofia Yaron and Cherry Creek’s Julie Karlberg and Beth Munro will play against one another.
 
In 4A, the #1 singles match will be between Kent Denver’s Lila Moldenhauer and Erie’s Nanoha Nakamura, while the #2 singles match will feature Cheyenne Mountain’s Sophie Zhou and Windsor’s Zaylee Rose. Cheyenne Mountain will also be playing in the #3 singles match, as Rose Katen will take on Severance’s Erin Crownhart.
 
Kent Denver and Cheyenne Mountain will look to make their mark in doubles, as one of the two schools – if not both – advanced to the championship match in each of the doubles matches. Both teams will be featured in #1 doubles, as Kent Denver’s Kendall Adams and Samantha Brenner will take on Cheyenne Mountain’s Jocelyn Kelly and Saffron Heroldt. Cheyenne Mountain’s duo of Daisy Hodsdon and Shea Devanny will face Mullen’s Avery Walters and Maisie McMorrow in #2 doubles, while Kent Denver’s Claire Bookmyer and Sofia Begel and Denver South’s Bianca Bryant and Sophie Kuenzler will meet in #3 doubles. In #4 doubles, Kent Denver and Cheyenne Mountain will meet again with Kent Denver’s Sasha Berry and Margaux Lively facing Cheyenne Mountain’s Meg Devanny and Lauren Sharp.
 
In 3A, a pair of freshmen will play for the #1 singles title, as D’Evelyn’s Nicole Celechovsky and Colorado Academy’s Mira Leon advanced to the championship match in their first high school season. D’Evelyn’s Evelyn Oltmans and Holy Family’s Annabelle Kenny will meet in #2 singles and in #3 singles, D’Evelyn’s Sofia Cieslewicz will take on Peak to Peak Ranye Ezenekwe.
 
In doubles, Colorado Academy’s Anna Johnson and Violet Tetzeli will play Holy Family’s Avery Alderman and Lauren Stonehocker in #1 doubles, while Vail Christian’s Alexa Blanch and Sabrina Nabonsal will play Peak to Peak’s Josie Adams and Molly Kolachov in #2 doubles. The #3 doubles matchup will be between Vail Christian’s Carys Highum and Olivia Zajac and Holy Family’s Kenna Dietz and Raelynn Pickup, and #4 doubles will feature Vail Christian’s Linnea Iverson and Grace Armstrong against Colorado Academy’s Emily Archie and Bea Wadsworth.
