The M.L. King Lions have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 83-53 loss at the hands of Tucker on Friday. While losing is never fun, M.L. King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Tucker is ranked 23rd).
Despite the loss, M.L. King still got an impressive performance from Kennedy Ruzvidzo jr., who scored 14 points. Ruzvidzo jr. scored a full 26.4% of M.L. King's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Quamon Ellison was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds.
M.L. King's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-4. As for Tucker, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
M.L. King will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Chamblee at 7:30 p.m. Chamblee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Tucker's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lithonia at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
