The Southwick Regional Rams will head out on the road to take on the East Longmeadow Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Southwick Regional sitting on four straight wins and East Longmeadow on 15.
On Monday, Southwick Regional was able to grind out a solid victory over Sabis International, taking the game 3-1.
The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 20-25, 25-13, 25-23.
Max Salvador was nothing short of spectacular: he had 20 digs and one assist.
Southwick Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, East Longmeadow got the win against Pioneer Valley Christian on Monday by a conclusive 3-0.
East Longmeadow never let Pioneer Valley Christian on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 25-21.
Southwick Regional better keep an eye on Jayden Sinn. He was instrumental in East Longmeadow's win, getting 23 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Sinn has posted since back in April.
East Longmeadow's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. As for Southwick Regional, their record is now 10-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's game: Southwick Regional has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.1 aces per game. However, it's not like East Longmeadow struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.2 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
