The Ida Baker Bulldogs stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Island Coast at home to the tune of 66-29. Ida Baker's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Maia Berdebes was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 steals. Alexandra Reuss was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Despite the loss, Island Coast saw an underclassman step up: Samarrah Desir scored 12 points. That was a full 41.4% of Island Coast's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Ida Baker has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Island Coast, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ida Baker will face off against Canterbury at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
