Sierra Canyon took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-65 win over the Millikan Rams. Winning may never get old, but the Trailblazers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row dating back to last season.
Despite the defeat, Millikan saw an underclassman step up: freshman Quali Giran shot 86% from the field on his way to 31 points and three steals. Joseph Wicker was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.
Coming up, Sierra Canyon will take on JSerra Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Millikan, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Inglewood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
