Deposit-Hancock's's and the Oxford Academy Blackhawks's contest on Tuesday was close at halftime, but Deposit-Hancock turned on the heat in the second half with 36 points. Deposit-Hancock blew past Oxford Academy 65-45. Considering Deposit-Hancock has won three matchups by more than 19 points this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Blake Fortunato continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points along with seven assists and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Deposit-Hancock's points. Thomas Reis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 12 rebounds and seven steals.
Deposit-Hancock's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.2 points per game. As for Oxford Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Deposit-Hancock and Margaretville Central will round out the year against one another at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Oxford Academy will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Edmeston Central at 8:00 p.m. on December 28th.
