The Franklin County Seahawks will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the North Florida Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Franklin County suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2023 on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-42 walloping at the hands of Bozeman. While losing is never fun, Franklin County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Bozeman is ranked 194th).
Despite their defeat, Franklin County saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lonnie O'Neal, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. Sadiq Jones was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, North Florida Christian came up short against St. John Paul II on Friday and fell 53-41. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for North Florida Christian in their matchups with St. John Paul II: they've now lost four in a row.
This is the second loss in a row for Franklin County and nudges their season record down to 10-9. As for North Florida Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Franklin County and North Florida Christian were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but Franklin County came up empty-handed after a 79-78 defeat.
