Meanwhile, Wachusett Regional posted their closest win since September 10, 2024 on Wednesday. They won by a set and slipped past Hudson 3-2.
Wachusett Regional was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-14, 20-25, 25-17, 15-13.
Wachusett Regional's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Shrewsbury, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
Everything went Shrewsbury's way against Wachusett Regional when the teams last played back in September, as Shrewsbury made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Colonials repeat their success, or do the Mountaineers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
