Basketball Recap: Kwame Hawkins and Jaedyn Robinson Secure Win for Indianapolis Metropolitan

Indianapolis Metropolitan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 62-39 margin over the Mooresville Christian Eagles. The Pumas have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Indianapolis Metropolitan to victory were Jaedyn Robinson and Kwame Hawkins. Robinson posted 13 points and six steals, while Hawkins went 8 for 10 en route to 17 points along with six boards and six steals. That's the most steals Robinson has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Javon Glaspie, who had seven points.

Mooresville Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gresh Warren, who scored 16 points and four steals. Warren has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Harrison Craney, who earned ten points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Indianapolis Metropolitan pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Mooresville Christian, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3.

Indianapolis Metropolitan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-47 loss against Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory on the 20th. Mooresville Christian has also already played their next matchup, a 65-31 win against Tabernacle Christian on the 21st.
