Having just played yesterday, the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets will jump right back in to play the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Archbishop McNicholas is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pensacola Catholic in their respective states (Archbishop McNicholas is ranked 227th in Ohio, while Pensacola Catholic is ranked 680th in Florida).
On Thursday, Archbishop McNicholas beat Lawrence County 54-46.
It was another big night for Andrew Ehlers, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Conrad, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Pensacola Catholic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 64-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence County. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Archbishop McNicholas now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pensacola Catholic, they bumped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.
