Mead is a perfect 3-0 against Niwot since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mavericks are taking a road trip to take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Mead's defense has only allowed 8.3 points per game this season, so Niwot's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Mead is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Windsor just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Wizards, falling 23-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Mavericks were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Niwot hadn't done well against Northridge recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cougars managed a 31-26 win over the Grizzlies. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Niwot's win came from a few key players Mead will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaydan Martinez, who picked up 77 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Niwot is undefeated when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. Eli Quesada did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 114 receiving yards.

Niwot's record now sits at 4-5. As for Mead, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.

Thursday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Mead has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 221.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Niwot, though, as they've been averaging only 88.9 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Mead was able to grind out a solid victory over Niwot in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, winning 14-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
