Football Recap: Manville Piles Up the Points Against Asbury Park

With a playoff win on the line, Manville rose to the challenge on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over the Asbury Park Bishops. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won nine games by 29 points or more so far this season.

Manville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh D'Ambrosio, who rushed for 173 yards and one TD while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 116 yards and one touchdown. D'Ambrosio really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Isaiah Bennett was another key back, gaining 128 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Manville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 289 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 195 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Manville's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Asbury Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Coming up, Manville will head out on the road to square off against Burlington City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Asbury Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
