The Brooks Lions had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 63-28 win over Wilson. The result was nothing new for Brooks, who have now won three matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Garrett Burrough continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Burrough is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Brooks also got help from Noah Gregg who showed off his sure hands for 130 receiving yards.
Brooks' victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 21 points. As for Wilson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brooks will face off against Deshler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Deshler is ranked 154th, while Brooks is ranked 135th). As for Wilson, they will head out on the road to face off against West Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Wilson likes a good challenge.
