Softball Recap: Issaquah Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Issaquah came tearing into Saturday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eastmont Wildcats a 15-0 shutout. The Eagles' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

London White (2027) tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Issaquah got a massive performance out of Shaelyn Erickson (2027), who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Giorgia Graham (2027), who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Issaquah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive games.

Issaquah's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Eastmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Issaquah will challenge Bothell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Eastmont, they will square off against Sunnyside at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.64 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
