The Simon Kenton Pioneers will head out to face off against the Campbell County Camels at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Simon Kenton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Simon Kenton barely beat Scott the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pioneers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Pioneers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 20, 2024.

Tre Beach
Simon Kenton got a great performance from Tre Beach as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Beach also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Pioneers are 2-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2-2 otherwise.
At the plate, Caleb French was a standout: he scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jag Ruebel, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Campbell County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cooper on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Camels in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won nine in a row.
Campbell County's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Simon Kenton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Simon Kenton has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Campbell County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Simon Kenton skirted past Campbell County 5-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
