The Bunn Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 47-31 fall against Louisburg. Bunn lost against Louisburg in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 40-33 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Bunn lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alana Sanders. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points. Sanders scored a full 67.7% of Bunn's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sasha Alaffita-Wilson , who scored six points.
Louisburg found their leader in underclassman Ryanne Arrington, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Richanti Jackson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Bunn's defeat was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. As for Louisburg, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Vance County the next time they take the court. Louisburg will head out to face Vance County at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Bunn will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
