After a string of three wins, the Upsala Cardinals's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Browerville. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Loss or not, Upsala got some senior leadership from Noah Boeckermann and Aden Warga. Boeckermann almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Warga. scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Primus, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Upsala's defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5. As for Browerville, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Upsala will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pine River-Backus has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 4. As for Browerville, they will be playing at home against the Thunder at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
