The weekend is loaded with high school girls basketball postseason action as 10 states will crown champions across multiple classifications.
We are highlighting 10 of the top matchups of the weekend. Some feature teams ranked in the MaxPreps Top 25 while others are highly-anticipated showdowns at the state level.

Alabama
Class 7A state championship
Time: 10 a.m., Saturday
What to watch for: Bob Jones punched its ticket to the final Thursday morning with a 65-63 win over Auburn as
Ella Watts dropped 29 and
Ja’kyah Smith added 24. The Patriots erased a nine-point halftime deficit. Hoover is looking for their seventh state championship in eight years and sixth consecutive title behind Missouri commit
Khloe Ford.
Class 6A state championship
Time: 12:30 p.m., Saturday
What to watch for: Florida A&M commit
Kristen Johnson leads Hazel Green in search of a title under first-year coach Demetrius Miller after winning seven straight from 2018-2024 under former coach Tim Miller. Johnson leads the Trojans with 17.0 points per night. Park Crossing is led by seniors
Tariah Magee and
Maliyah Meeks.
Arizona
Open Division state championshipTime: 5 p.m., Saturday
What to watch for: O'Connor rides a 16-game win streak into Saturday behind
Ava Schooler (18.8 points per game) and
Audrey Bhesania (16.0). The Eagles are battle-tested after a preseason schedule that included No. 4 Ontario Christian as well as teams from Oklahoma and Texas. Millennium is the reigning Open champion and gets balanced scoring from
Dashia Richardson (13.0 points per game),
T'maea Eteuati (12.8) and freshman
Brooklynn Williams (11.0). Like O'Connor, the Tigers played a stout preseason schedule, including games in the Nike TOC top division.
Illinois
Class 4A state semifinal
Time: 4:15 p.m., Friday
What to watch for: Loyola
Academy is the top-ranked team in the state as the Ramblers look for
their fourth state title in nine appearances. They won their last title
in 2024 and have won 24 straight heading into the semifinal. Rolling
Meadows is led by senior forward
Abby Ramel (16.2 points per game) as the Mustangs
hope to hoist their first state title trophy.
Class 4A state semifinal
Time: 2:30 p.m., Friday
What to watch for: Nazareth
Academy won the Class 3A title in 2022 and was runner-up in 4A to
Loyola Academy in 2024. BYU signee
Stella Sakalas leads the Roadrunners averaging 18.1 points per game. Belleville East is led by sophomores
Hailey Gray
(15.3),
Ramiyah Young (13.0) and
Denaya Bartelheim (10.0) while looking to
head its first state title game in program history.
Mississippi
Class 4A state championship
Time: 2 p.m., Friday
What to watch for: Meg Moore of Tishomingo County is a bucket, averaging 23.3 points per night while Class 4A Miss Basketball winner
Kazli Timbes chips in 18.3. The Braves won the title in 2024, their first state crown. Junior
Makayla Sam leads Louisville with 18.0 points and 9.3 rebounds per night while
Sanya Leach adds nearly 14 point per contest. The Wildcats are looking for their fourth state title after winning in 2023.
South Carolina
Class AAAA state championshipTime: 4 p.m., Saturday
What to watch for: Something has to give as the pair of one-loss teams, who are no strangers to postseason battles with one another, meet Saturday. Westside is led by freshman
Tiana Marshall (13.0 points per game) as well as juniors
Khalia Hartwell (12.9) and
Harmoni Earl (11.3). Westside ended North Augusta's season in 2022 and 2024. North Augusta's
Ashley Walker averages 17.9 points per game as the Yellow Jackets look for back-to-back titles. They beat Westside 48-35 in last year's title game.
Texas
Conference 5A Division 1 state championship
Time: 11 a.m., Saturday
What to watch for: Ryan reached its second trip to the state final and is looking to cash in with back-to-back titles behind a smothering defense led by SMU signee
Kaylin Jackson and James Madison commit
Kinley Lewis. Glenn, meanwhile, is on the big stage for the first time in program history after knocking out previously-unbeaten and ranked Wagner in the regional final.
Conference 6A Division 1 state championship
Time: 5 p.m., Saturday
What to watch for: Flower Mound's run to the championship game has been behind junior
Maci Pringle, who broke her nose and continued on in the postseason with a mask. Summer Creek is the defending state champion and led by senior guard
Kennedy Simpson, who was the title game MVP last season.
Conference 6A Division 2 state championshipTime: 7 p.m., Saturday
What to watch for: Led by
Tamia King, Westlake is the lone girls program still unbeaten and looking for its first state title since 2003. The Chaparrals went back-to-back in 1995 and 1996. Junior
Journee Hampton fuels Lancaster with an 18-point average as the Tigers are making their second straight final appearance.
