It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Creekside had no problem doing just that on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-39 win over the Benedictine Cadets. The Seminoles' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Creekside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Benson, who rushed for 144 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 163 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Benson has posted since back in November of 2024. Gary Walker also helped out as he racked up 143 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Creekside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 349 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in five consecutive games.
Creekside's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. Tavarre Terrell was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Terrell is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another thorn in Benedictine's side was Decari Farley, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Creekside's record is now 15-0. As for Benedictine, with the loss, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-3.
