McClatchy extended their winning streak to six on Saturday, bumping them up to 6-0. They took down the Elk Grove Thundering Herd 66-48. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Thundering Herd on their court since December 4, 2015.

As for Elk Grove, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Elk Grove's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Robinson, who shot 45% from the field en route to 14 points and five rebounds. Mathias MacPhail was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Looking ahead, McClatchy will venture away from home to face off against Clovis West at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Elk Grove, they will square off against Saint Francis at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
