Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Waukegan should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They will challenge Zion-Benton on the road at 7:00 PM. Waukegan come in off of six low-scoring performances in a row, a trend the team is obviously eager to reverse.
Things haven't been easy for Waukegan, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to seven. They were given a punishing 0-42 defeat at the hands of Stevenson. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Meanwhile, Zion-Benton took an ego-bruising loss against Warren Township two weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Saturday. Zion-Benton skirted past Lake Forest 30-28.
Zion-Benton's victory lifted them to 3-4 while Waukegan's loss dropped them down to 0-7. We'll find out if Zion-Benton can add another positive mark to their record or if Waukegan can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Zion-Benton's step.
