Even though the Moss Point Tigers have not done well against the St. Martin Yellow Jackets recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Moss Point managed a 53-47 win over St. Martin. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Moss Point.
Leading Moss Point to victory were Alejandro Montalvo and Quey'sean Taylor. Montalvo scored 12 points along with five assists, while Taylor scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The matchup was Taylor's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jujuan Nettles, who scored six points along with six steals.
Moss Point has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for St. Martin, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
Moss Point will head out on the road to face off against Pass Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pass Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for St. Martin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Biloxi at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Biloxi presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than St. Martin in Mississippi (Biloxi is ranked 44th, while St. Martin is ranked 245th).
