Basketball Recap: Futures Sets Scoring Season-High Against Encina

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Futures). They breezed by the Encina Bulldogs to the tune of 76-39 on Friday. With the Knights ahead 36-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Futures found their leader in freshman Anthoni Moore, who dropped a triple-double on 35 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moore has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Daniel Morar, who posted eight points in addition to 13 rebounds and five steals.

Futures was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Encina only posted three assists.

When it comes to explaining why Encina lost, don't look at Uziah Griffin. Despite the final result, he had seven points along with 17 boards and six blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of IzaIah Woods, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Futures' win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Encina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Futures didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 98-23 victory against Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning on the 7th. As for Encina, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-12 loss against Oakmont on the 6th.
