RICHMOND, Calif. -
Salesian (Richmond, Calif.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 14-3 victory over
Saint Mary's (Albany, Calif.) on Saturday. The Pride took the lead for good when
De'Angelo Hernandez ran for a touchdown.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at zero. The Pride took the lead indefinitely on a touchdown run by Hernandez in the fourth quarter.
Coming into the game Salesian had allowed 22.3 points per game this year. SHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Panthers well below the 38.0 points it had been averaging per game.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Richmond school, which lost to St. Patrick-St. Vincent last week, 20-7. The victory snapped Salesian's three-game losing streak.
