The Lodi Flames lost against the Tracy Bulldogs back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lodi took a serious blow against Tracy, falling 42-14. While losing is never fun, Lodi can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Tracy is ranked 90th).
Lodi's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Shinn, who threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Mackey, who picked up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Aidan VanOs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tracy, throwing for 208 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Daniel Chavez, who picked up 75 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Lodi has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Tracy, their win was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
Lodi will challenge Tokay at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Tokay is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Tracy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against West at 7:15 p.m. West is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
