The Kansas School for the Deaf Jackrabbits suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-31 walloping at the hands of Ozanam. Kansas School for the Deaf was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.
Despite the loss, Kansas School for the Deaf had strong showings from Tyler McCallum, who scored 11 points, and Isaac Plummer, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
It was another big night for Talan Olmstead, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks for Ozanam. Olmstead is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Zaireion Nicholson, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and two steals.
Kansas School for the Deaf bumped their record down to 7-3 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.8 points per game. As for Ozanam, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.
Kansas School for the Deaf will be playing in front of their home fans against Frontier School of Excellence at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Frontier School of Excellence is ranked 305th in Missouri, while Kansas School for the Deaf is ranked 330th in Kansas). As for Ozanam, they will head out on the road to challenge The Daniel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
