The Hagerstown Tigers struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Thursday (the Northeastern Knights were 39% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Hagerstown was beaten by the Knights 70-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hagerstown has scored all season.
Hagerstown's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaac Schmitz, who scored eight points, and Landon Lawson who scored five points along with nine rebounds. Lawson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.
Northeastern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landon Scarrette led the charge by scoring 25 points along with five rebounds. Scarrette has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dae Lundy, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Hagerstown's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Northeastern, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hagerstown will play host again and welcome the Golden Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northeastern, they will be playing at home against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Knights are ranked 146th).
