The Littleton Lions had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-48 win over Wheat Ridge on Friday. This was payback for Littleton, who suffered a 50-45 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Littleton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Lasswell led the charge by scoring 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Treyton Fletcher was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and six blocks.
Littleton's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Wheat Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Littleton will be playing at home against Elizabeth at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Elizabeth is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Wheat Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Greeley West at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Greeley West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Friday.
