Leading Erie to victory were Brayden Haan and Christopher Smith. Haan scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Smith scored 22 points. Haan also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marco Martinez, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Frederick lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jovan Aldana, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Marcus Garcia was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
The victory got Erie back to even at 3-3. As for Frederick, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 3-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Erie will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fossil Ridge at 12:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
