The Annville-Cleona Dutchmen will square off against the Mount Calvary Christian Chargers at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Annville-Cleona is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Annville-Cleona needed a bit of extra time to put away Pequea Valley. They won by a run and slipped past the Braves 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dutchmen have posted since April 30, 2025.

Traian Dompier and Alex Shaffer were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Dompier didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Shaffer pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At bat, Dompier went 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base, while Shaffer got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Zac Frentz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Annville-Cleona is 2-1 when Frentz posts one or more home runs, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Englehart, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Mount Calvary Christian had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Coventry Christian 16-5 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Owen Weisser was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Logan Stewart, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Mount Calvary Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Annville-Cleona's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Mount Calvary Christian, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Annville-Cleona has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mount Calvary Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
