Brady Saxton put up the most runs he's had since back in March on Tuesday. He scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Northwest Rankin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-12-1 otherwise.

Saxton's strong effort led Northwest Rankin over Meridian and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are a perfect 3-0 against the Wildcats going back to April of 2024, a lead they'll look to extend.
