Centennial is a perfect 10-0 against Cleburne since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Centennial comes in on seven and Cleburne on three.
While Centennial's victory against Mansfield Timberview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans skirted past the Wolves 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since February 27th.
Ava Ellis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.
Cleburne came out on top against Seguin on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Cougars. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by ten runs or more this season.

Cleburne's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Centennial has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Cleburne, though, as they've been averaging only 2.6 strikeouts. Will Centennial keep running through batters, or will the Yellowjackets buck the trend?
Everything went Centennial's way against Cleburne in their previous meeting back in February, as Centennial made off with a 13-0 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Yellowjackets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
