Robinson has gone a perfect 5-0 against Chamberlain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Robinson Knights will square off against the Chamberlain Storm at 10:00 a.m. Robinson will be strutting in after a win while Chamberlain will be coming in after a loss.
Robinson is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since April 11, 2024 on Thursday. They put the hurt on Blake with a sharp 11-1 win. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Nathan Porath looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Robinson let Samuel Hyman and Tyson Boyd run wild. Hyman scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1, while Boyd scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases Boyd has posted since back in February of 2024. Angelo Rivera was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
Robinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Chamberlain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Jefferson, falling 12-1.
Chamberlain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brihan Arteaga Diaz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Arteaga Diaz's first of the season.
Robinson's record now sits at 3-1. As for Chamberlain, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Chamberlain's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Robinson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Chamberlain, though, as they've been averaging only 2.5 strikeouts. Will Robinson keep running through batters, or will Chamberlain buck the trend?
Everything went Robinson's way against Chamberlain in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Robinson made off with an 8-1 victory. Will Robinson repeat their success, or does Chamberlain have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
