Baseball Recap: Pine Creek Has No Trouble Against Pendleton

Pine Creek barely beat Pendleton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Buckaroos with a sharp 9-2 win on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Kyle McDonnell and Tristan Mullis did most of the damage at the plate: McDonnell went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Mullis went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Mullis has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Holm, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pine Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.

Pine Creek's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Pendleton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Pine Creek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-2 win against Summit on the 25th. As for Pendleton, they have also already played their next game, a 7-5 defeat against Pomona on the 25th.
