The Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers typically have all the answers at home, but on Saturday the Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 71-55 win over the Fighting Tigers. Bethlehem pushed the score to 62-41 by the end of the third, a deficit Breckinridge County cut but never quite recovered from.
Despite the loss, Breckinridge County still got an impressive performance from Caroline Lucas, who scored 32 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lucas has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Huffines, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Breckinridge County used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Bethlehem. And. Rowan Radaszewski made the most of the opportunity, scoring six points along with seven rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Bethlehem pushed their record up to 16-8 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.4 points per game. As for Breckinridge County, their defeat ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 18-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethlehem will take on North Bullitt at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bethlehem knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully North Bullitt likes a good challenge. As for Breckinridge County, they will be playing at home against Henderson County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
