Mt. Enterprise and Overton are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mt. Enterprise's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Mt. Enterprise duked it out with Lovelady on Friday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 82-60 margin over the Lions. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Kaegan Ash
| 10/24/25 vs Lovelady | 495 |
| 10/10/25 vs Grapeland | 417 |
| 09/19/25 @ Shelbyville | 385 |
| 09/06/24 @ Alba-Golden | 346 |

Kaegan Ash was his usual excellent self, rushing for 495 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per carry. Those 495 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aadin Alsup, who rushed for 108 yards and three scores on only nine carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mt. Enterprise was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 651 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards in 15 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Overton took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 47-3 win over Alto. Considering the Mustangs have won five games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mt. Enterprise better keep an eye on Rylan Holleman. He was instrumental in Overton's win, rushing for 94 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries. Holleman's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jacob Osburn also helped out with an impressive 98 receiving yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Overton's defense and their ten sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Hunter Klima and Gunnar Whitfield, who racked up six sacks between them. Overton is undefeated when Klima posts one or more sacks, but 2-3 otherwise.
Mt. Enterprise pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Overton, their record is now 5-3.
Thursday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Mt. Enterprise has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 394.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Overton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 226.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Mt. Enterprise and Overton were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but Mt. Enterprise suffered an agonizing 45-44 defeat. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Bryce Still (who rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 255 yards and three TDs while completing 82.8% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
