AA Region 7 recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Model, who took down 325th ranked Chattooga, 27-7.
Armuchee was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fourth in AA Region 7. The Indians vanquished Murray County 45-7 earlier in the week.
Pepperell's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kyle Henderson threw for 40 and one touchdown and Mark Green had 15 yards receiving. On the ground Ben Davenport chipped in 124 yards. Landon Brooks helped Pepperell's passing attack out by catching one ball for 13 yards.
Pepperell's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Henderson has thrown for 361 yards and one touchdown this season, while Davenport has nine catches for 92 yards. Davenport leads the league in rushing with 368 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Blue Devils take on Armuchee. At the moment, Model is in second, while the Indians are in fourth.
Dade County moved up to 335 from 365 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AA Region 7. The Wolverines climbed the ranks as a result of a 50-14 win over the Wolverines.
