The Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers waltzed into their match Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Bethlehem Center with a 46-41 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Chartiers-Houston also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Chartiers-Houston's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Capozzoli, who scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Capozzoli scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Mia Mitrik, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and seven steals.
Chartiers-Houston's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Bethlehem Center, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Chartiers-Houston will be home for the holidays to greet Sto-Rox at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sto-Rox comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Bethlehem Center and Charleroi will round out the year against one another at 11:00 a.m. on December 28th at. Charleroi presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bethlehem Center in Pennsylvania (Charleroi is ranked 169th, while Bethlehem Center is ranked 392nd).
