On Friday, Tongue River was beaten by Douglas 51-20. While losing is never fun, Tongue River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Douglas is ranked third).
Douglas was led to victory by Jaden Meyer and Lauren Olsen. Meyer scored 17 points along with 5 steals, while Olsen scored 18 points along with 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Olsen has scored at least 25% of Douglas' points. Jill Fertig was another key contributor, scoring 6 points.
Tongue River's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Douglas, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Tongue River is on the road again on Saturday and play against Moorcroft at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th. Moorcroft comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Douglas, they will take on Lingle-Fort Laramie at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lingle-Fort Laramie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
