After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Astoria, the Florence Gophers were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They skirted past San Tan Foothills 51-48. That's another feather in the cap for Florence, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Florence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Stenson, who scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and four steals. Stenson set a new season high mark in blocks with three. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Cundiff, who scored 16 points.
Florence now has a winning record of 6-5. As for San Tan Foothills, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Florence will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Combs at 2:30 p.m. on December 20th. One thing working in Combs' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. San Tan Foothills will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Coolidge at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
