The Robertson Cardinals waltzed into their match on Thursday with 14 straight wins but they left with 15. They secured a 52-48 W over St. Michael. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Robertson has scored all season.
Robertson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan Gonzales out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Gonzales hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Contreras, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Robertson pushed their record up to 17-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. Michael's, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Robertson has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Pintos at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th. St. Michael's will take on the Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
